The Role of the Steering Group A number of local people have come together to establish and develop a local fund designated for the Rye and district area - The Rye Fund - which has been set up in conjunction with Sussex Community Foundation, an independent charity which manages funds and distributes grants on behalf of donors within Sussex. The Foundation will hold and manage the funds donated, and provide administration of the grant-making process including monitoring of performance and investment management. Donations to the Rye Fund will be dedicated for the benefit of Rye and district, and a local panel has been set up to identify and recommend suitable projects for receiving grants. This panel consists of local people who know the area and who are already involved in a local business or charitable organisation.
